SUMMARY
Dedicated high-speed lanes are less of a threat to the industry than some onlookers would have you believe. There is nothing finite about the internet, and adding in dedicated fast lanes does not mean everyone else is in the slow lane. The focus on Net Neutrality has made the powers that be aware that broadband is a monopoly in most communities and that this has a negative effect on both consumers and content producers. Therefore, there’s a chance that the government (judiciary or legislative branches) will break up the current MVPD line-up the way they once did to Ma Bell back in the 80s.
